Hey there! I’m Heidi. A lover of word and world.

With curiosity in my pocket, I can go anywhere in the world and find a bazillion things to love.

I’m all about helping people feel at home in their own skin.

Mary Oliver, Pablo Neruda, Rilke, Rumi, T.S. Eliot, Billy Collins—yes, all poets—are some of my favorite people in the whole wide world. Ever. Read some of my favorites here.

Oh also? I adore Leonard Cohen. Huge crush. He says it like it is and he says it so beautifully.

I love writing letters. Seriously. It’s one of my favorite things to do. In A Month of Living Curiously I get to write letters that people like you subscribe to! Woo-hoo.

My favorite way to deal with the hard stuff of life is to meet it with an open heart and a sense of wonder and exploration. Oh, and a huge bag of humor, of course.

I love mixing things up in the kitchen. Want to invite yourself over for a bite to eat sometime?

I love my morning tea. Yorkshire Gold, to be exact. My sister, currently living in Harrogate, U.K., actually just sent me 3 boxes of 80 bags/ea of the goods. So I’m set for, oh, 2 or 3 months. Gotta love addictions.

I love roadtrips.

That there is whole bunch of things I love. What don’t I love? Hmmmm…

Anything tight is not good: Tight shoes. Tight shirts. Tight ways of being. See what I mean? Tight always, eventually, explodes. And then pretty much you have a mess.

Fox News. Yeah, not so much. At all. In fact, I pretty much don’t like TV. So I got rid of mine. Life gets better. Less equals much more.

Too many choices. Craaaazy-making! Too many choices are like a freaking hamster wheel for my mind, which I’d rather use for the good stuff, like writing letters, and poems, and stories.
